Website Update v2.5.0/.1/.2 [2018-10-10 ~ 2018-10-13]
Oh my this is slightly overdue. Well here’s what we changed in v2.5.X.
✨ What’s Changed
- The Fuel Rats merch store – After a long and tiresome process, The Fuel Rats proudly present our official merchandise store! Currently only major credit cards are supported, and the initial product list is limited, however we plan to continue to build up our storefront as we begin to take in more revenue through merchandise sales. Keep an eye on it! You never know when something interesting might appear. 😉
- Rewritten blog post loader – The theme of these next few major updates is “speed”. One of my little side tangents I went on while developing for this update was to completely rewrite how we load blog posts. I’m quite happy with the result, but there are some problems which will be addressed in a future update.
- Better statistics page performance – The minimum rescue count threshold for the rescues-by-system blob chart was raised so less systems will be displayed. This resulted in vastly improved render times, making for an overall much faster page.
- Streamlined SSO process – While this update was in development, we began integrating single sign-on for the majority of our available services. Jira, Confluence, and the all new fuelrats.cloud service are now exclusively accessible through your fuelrats.com account! This brought some issues with the authorization page to our attention, and they were mostly addressed in this update. The authorize page now loads faster, and will remember when you have already allowed an application access to your fuelrats.com account.
- Mobile UX Fixes – The login dialog no longer looks super jank when attempting to sign in on mobile.
- A boat load of less interesting changes – Just all the boring stuff nobody cares about since it doesn’t actually change any visible behavior. Want a more in-depth breakdown? Read our Release PR notes on the website’s GitHub repo. 😜
- No new Easter egg – Sorry, we got too busy trying to push this out the door. 😢
🐞 Known Issues
- Loading blog posts directly, instead of through the blog list, results in an error – We are still investigating this problem, and a fix will be released (hopefully) soon.
